An interactive platform for formative assessment and immediate feedback in laboratory courses

Abstract The aim of this work is to use the laboratory platform as a unique tool for engaging and encouraging students develop critical thinking guided self-evaluation abilities. Moreover, fact that teaching process in lab held small groups enables detection difficulties an early stage, thus allowing immediate feedback relevant assistance. Taking advantage environment we have developed rubric score based interface assistants (TAs) aimed encourage student’s reflection engagement while enabling rational valid grading students’ performance by TAs. consists eight parameters which are evaluated each session, both student TA. Following comparison evaluations performed manager real time intervention formative assessment, along with important insights on learning student. Our preliminary studies, Chemistry laboratories, indicated methodology enabled efficient assessment during course. This might help rapidly improve their courses, stimulation continuous process.
